what’s it like?
Reading & Leeds is the UK's longest-running festival (it started way back in 1971). It's regarded by most music aficionados - especially those with a penchant for guitar-based bands - as the country's foremost event for rock music. In other words, it's for real music lovers, with well over 100 bands to check out over three days, as well as comedy and dance music tents. The crowd is a real mix, but one common factor is that everyone is watching the bands they love.
You'll find all the headline acts on the main stage. But the unsigned stages are the place to head for music from emerging acts. You'll hear great music and the stages tend to be less crowded so you can get up close.
For campers don't bother putting out your guide-ropes, unless it's blowing a hoolie. You'll have fewer people trip over your tent and wreck it. of course, if you book a myhab you'll be totally safe, secure and dry in myvillage. And you won't even have to bother lugging a tent all the way to the festival and having to put it up. We'll take care of it all for you.
Leave the car at home think of the planet and avoid the jams - getting to Leeds is better by coach (National Express and See Coaches run services into the venue from all over the uk). There are regular shuttle bus services to and from Leeds Railway Station, Leeds Bus Station and York Railway Station straight into the site too.
